Local Shoutouts

As always I am so pleased to support local businesses. I am not affiliated with any of these companies but I think they are worthy of a mention.

Boskos Burgers, Northampton

Opened just this year in our town centre, this is one great recommendation for those who enjoy a delicious tasting burger. Using Aberdeen Angus beef I can simply say "yummy" and hats off to the guys.

My Smash Burger with melted cheese and burger relish in a brioche bun was divine. With loaded fries, hot dogs and shakes all on offer too, I just know you'll enjoy it as much as I did. Prices are amazing when you consider the high quality ingredients, where other burger joints would use mass produced meat for similar price points.

Available on Ubereats or order direct with the restaurant. Attending in person is a treat, the customer service is superb and watching your food being prepared freshly in front of your very eyes makes you more appreciative.

What is your favourite burger filling?

Bewiched Coffee, Northampton

You know by now how much I love my coffee, well this place is currently my new heaven. Opened early this year the new coffee shop is found in Moulton Park and boasts a drive thru. The staff are really friendly and the coffee is smooth and delicious. You'll be wanting to go back for more. One tip, pick up the loyalty card. A free cup of coffee is waiting for you when you have ordered 11 times.

You can tell the coffee bean has been chosen for their flavour by a person who knows & also enjoys great coffee, later this year they are planning on opening their own roasterie in Peterborough, where they'll roast, blend & grind their own beans, exciting times.

From iced drinks to smoothies and paninis to slices of treat heaven, you will not be disappointed. There is something for all tastes and all pockets.

What do you like to eat with your coffee?

Bronx Kitchen, Northampton

So, you want a pizza, but you want the kind of pizza you see on TV or in the movies, thin, crisp base, stone oven cooked, fresh gorgeous tasting ingredients? Then Bronx kitchen is for you, the focus here is on quality & value, deal for deal they are about equal in price compared to the big 3, but absolutely trumps them on taste & quality.

The menu isn't endless, but there's plenty of choices for vegans, carnivores & just as important, the children. Speaking of children, during the weekends & school holidays they run a kids pizza making course, could be a great way to keep the kids occupied, they get to keep what they make & if you wait with the children, there's a big discount on food & drink purchased, sounds like a win win.

What is the most unusual topping on a pizza you have eaten?
